Recognizing Excellence: The Stanley C. Israel Regional Award
At NERM2008 we will honor the 2008 the recipient of the Stanley C. Israel Regional Award recognizing an individual and/or institution that has advanced diversity in the chemical sciences and increased the participation and leadership of underrepresented minorities, persons with disabilities, women, and sexual minorities through mentoring, hiring, promotion and/or other activities that lead to greater inclusiveness within the chemical sciences. This award is coordinated through the ACS Office of Diversity Programs
The award consists of a plaque and a $1000.00 grant to support and further the activities for which the award was made. The award will also include funding to cover the recipient’s travel and accomodation expenses to NERM2008. The plaque and check will be presented during our conference dinner and chemistry cruise. Our awardee will also make a presentation in a joint session of our career development and chemistry enthusiasts programs.
