Demographics, ACS Northeast Regional Meeting

ACS Regional Meetings are organized by ACS Local Sections to reflect the diverse professional interests of their geographic region. More than 8,000 chemists participated in 2007, and the 2008 meetings are continuing the tradition of the innovative and exciting programming on a regional basis.

The most recent Northeast Regional Meeting, NERM2006, held in Binghamton, NY, attracted 859 attendees of which 421 were chemistry professionals (based in industry or academia), and 62 were associated with the 24 companies exhibiting at the event. The remaining attendees were students, post-doctoral researchers, teachers, and emeritus/retired chemists.

Our "sister" event, the Mid Atlantic Regional Meeting, MARM, attracted 958 attendees in 2006. 26 companies participated in the exhibition.

Further information about NERM2006, including exhibitor and technical program listings can be found at the NERM2006 website. A listing of MARM2006 sponsors and MARM2006 exhibitors is available at the MARM2006 website.

We expect more than 800 attendees at NERM2008, June 29th to July 2nd 2008, in Burlington, Vermont, including academic and industrial researchers and decision makers from throughout our region and from Canada.
