Professional Development Workshops
NERM2008 will feature a number of careers and professional development workshops aimed at students, educators, and chemistry professionals at all stages of their careers. We may require pre-registration for some of the more popular events.
- Chemical Reactivity Hazards, Laboratory Scale, Recognition & Control. Wednesday, July 2: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Adventures in Chemistry and Physics: An Interactive Hands-On Forensics Workshop. Wednesday, July 2: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (preregistration required, priority will be given to teachers and home-school parents).
- Polymers: An Interactive Hands-On Workshop. Tuesday, July 1: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM (preregistration required, priority will be given to teachers and home-school parents).
- Chemistry Ethics Workshop. Tuesday, July 1: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Job Searching Strategy, Interview Skills and Résumé Preparation workshops for chemistry professionals. Wednesday, July 2: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) workshop. Saturday June 28th (preregistration required)
One-on-one resume reviews and advice from ACS Careers Consultants will be available to job search workshops participants.
